Data Centers & Energy Infrastructure

When Downtime Isn't an Option, You Need the Right Contractor.

AK Industrial brings 45 years of heavy rigging, energy infrastructure installation, and precision field-first execution to data center environments — from large-scale turbine, generator and transformer deployments to full facility equipment moves in live, energized facilities across the U.S. and Mexico.

Data Centers & Energy Infrastructure

Data Center & Energy Infrastructure Installations Are Different. Most Contractors Aren't Ready For It.

A data center is not a standard industrial environment — and neither is its energy infrastructure. Industrial turbines, generator sets, transformers, switchgear, and UPS systems are the backbone of every facility, and moving or installing them requires heavy rigging experience, energized-environment discipline, and tight coordination with commissioning teams.

Equipment moves happen in live facilities with active power infrastructure. Lifts are often in constrained spaces with strict floor-load limitations. A single delay or incident can cascade across an entire project — and the contractors who treat these scopes like any other equipment move create exactly those problems.

AK Industrial was built for exactly these kinds of environments. Our rigging and millwright capabilities, our self-perform discipline, and our safety-first culture translate directly into what data center owners, developers, and general contractors need: one accountable team that handles both the energy infrastructure and the facility equipment — with precision and clarity from mobilization to final sign-off.

What We Do

Precision Execution Across the U.S. and Mexico.

Energy Infrastructure & Power

Rigging and installation of the data center’s power backbone — including industrial turbines, large-scale generators, transformers, switchgear, and substations. We specialize in the precision rigging and alignment required for high-capacity power generation units in energized environments where protecting existing infrastructure is the first priority.

Equipment Offloading & Receiving

Coordinated offloading of generators, UPS systems, PDUs, cooling units, and server infrastructure — staged, logged, and delivered to the correct location without disrupting active operations. We handle OFCI (Owner-Furnished Contractor-Installed) equipment with the same precision and accountability as turnkey scopes.

Staging & Sequencing

Complex multi-phase installations require precise staging. We coordinate with your GC and commissioning team to sequence equipment delivery, positioning, and installation in alignment with your overall project schedule.

Heavy & Light Rigging

From industrial turbines, large generator sets and transformer installations to precision UPS and CRAC unit placements, our certified rigging crews have the experience and equipment to execute lifts safely in constrained, live facility environments.

Precision Setting & Alignment

Equipment set to exact tolerances. Our millwright technicians use precision alignment tools to ensure every unit is set to spec — minimizing vibration, protecting mechanical connections, and ensuring clean commissioning.

Leveling & Anchoring

Precision leveling and anchoring of mission-critical equipment to rated specifications. All work performed to exact tolerances and documented for commissioning and owner records to ensure long-term stability and performance.

Decommission & Relocation

Full decommissioning and relocation of existing data center equipment — including safe disconnection coordination, rigging, transport, and reinstallation at the new facility with the same precision standards.

Why It Matters

In a Mission-Critical Environment, Self-Perform Isn't a Preference. It's Risk Management.

When a subcontractor fails on a data center scope, the consequences aren't limited to that trade. They ripple — into commissioning delays, schedule extensions, and potential damage to live infrastructure.

Same Crew. Every Day.

Our rigging and millwright crews are AK employees — trained to our standards, familiar with our protocols, and accountable to our project leadership. You don't get a different crew each morning. You get the same team that walked the site, built the plan, and knows every detail of your scope.

Direct Field Communication.

No subcontractor middlemen. When conditions change — and in a live data center, they do — our field supervisors communicate directly with your project team. Problems are identified and resolved without waiting for information to pass through a chain of outside contractors.

Single Point of Accountability.

AK is responsible for the scope. Not a subcontractor. Not a staffing agency. Us. That means one contract, one safety program, one quality standard, and one team accountable for delivering exactly what was promised from start to finish.

Disciplined Safety Standards.

Our safety program is integrated into every phase of our work. Every person on your site is an AK employee trained to our proprietary safety standards and is accountable for maintaining a safe, disciplined environment. In a live data center, we understand that safety isn't just about compliance—it's about protecting the operational continuity of your mission-critical infrastructure.

Credentials & Compliance

Pre-Qualified. Verified. Ready to Work.

AK Industrial maintains a full compliance profile that satisfies the prequalification requirements of major data center owners, developers, and general contractors. Our ISNetworld A rating gives your procurement team immediate, verified access to our safety programs, insurance documentation, training records, and licensing credentials — eliminating the back-and-forth that delays project award.

Our AFCOM membership reflects our active participation in the data center industry — staying current on best practices, emerging standards, and the specific technical requirements of mission-critical environments. We're not new to this market. We're invested in it.

For international scopes, our American Chamber of Mexico membership and established operations in Monterrey, Mexico position us as the right partner for cross-border data center installations — with genuine capability across all of Mexico, the same crew standards, the same safety program, and the same accountability on both sides of the border.
